Grauholz motorway service area becomes a Mecca for historic cars

On Sunday, April 30th, the Grauholz motorway service area on the A1 near Berne is expecting a large number of visitors: the Swiss Historic Vehicle Days will show 80 to 100 cars from all eras to marvel at, from the early days to the turn of the millennium. This is the first event of its kind in the Berne region.

Bern, April 4th, 2023.
In the truck car park of the Grauholz motorway service area in the direction of Bern, directly after the TAMOIL fuel station, there will be no trucks parked on the last Sunday of April for once. Instead, members of the Oldtimer Club Bern (OCB) and its counterpart from Suisse Romande VCCSR (Vétéran Car Club Suisse Romand) will presenting carefully restored and lovingly maintained veteran vehicles as well as Youngtimers.

A large number of visitors are expected
The event has been organised by the motorway service area partners: TAMOIL, Socar and Grauholz AG, the operator of the service area’s hotel and restaurants. Roger Wyrsch, manager Grauholz AG, explains that no effort has been spared in organising this classic car meeting. A large number of visitors are expected, as on normal days at least 4’000 people visit the motorway service area, its fuel stations and catering facilities.

In addition to the existing catering offer, the guests of the Historic Vehicle Days will be offered Hot Dogs, Sausages, Asian food, Popcorn and Sweets. There will be games for young and old alike. A DJ will provide musical entertainment. And host Johannes Hübner, a well-known classic car expert and track announcer, will tour the exhibition and present the noble exhibits.
